S2000 swap
Does anyone know if you can swap the S2000 motor in a 5th gen prelude...or any other honda besides the S2000?? The reson I ask is b/c i just picked up a complete S2000 motor w/ tranny from an 04 model.....let me know what u guys think!!! Thanks!!!
hey smart a$$, why don't u do some research, the only topic that's been covered my this is if the S2k head would fit on the prelude block, so shut your ignorant a$$ up....BUMP anyone else????
like i said...you will need LOTS AND LOTS OF money
first just to get it to sit in the engine bay correctly it would require LOTS of modification, then you have to convert to RWD.
i'm an ******* to people who dont use their noodle.
and its not even the f20c.....its the 2.2L non vtec motor which = slow compared to f20c

jesus where do you people come from. You need LOTS and LOTS of money.
and wasnt there a topic already on this?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Translation: You do realize that the prelude is FWD and the s2000 is RWD. It could probably be done, but honestly why go to that effort.

I have seen pictures of a S2000 engine/drive train in a miata though as well as an older rwd celica. Something like that would probably be a better decision.

You're wrong. The new engine F22C is DOHC VTEC and makes the same hp as old engine and more torque (just for USDM market). Everywhere else they left the old F20C in S2k

to swap an s2k motor into a lude u would have to either 1) convert to rwd or 2) somehow attach a k series tranny to the s2k motor, the s2k motor spins the opposite direct as a d/b/f/h series motor, or the same direction as a k series motor, otherwise, if u were to say use an h22 tranny on the f20/f22c s2k motor to keep it fwd, you would have 5 reverse gears and 1 forward gear..., getting the engine in the car is pretty much like any other f/h series swap i think (dont quote me), its the tranny problem and the direction the crank goes, although i think u can modify the engine so the crank spins in the same direction as d/b/f/h engines but im not sure
hey dude...if you want to do it, do it...
It'll be pretty fun and it won't be easy, you will need money but not as much as this guys think. There will be a lot of modifying and fab to do.
One of my buddies is doing an AWD 00 Civic si. It's taking time but it's going to be done. It's up to you man, good luck.
That's my 02 pennies pimpin.
