Installed H&R Standard Coilovers - is this correct? (pic)
...I'm putting this here because the suspension forum moves hella slow (I posted there and got one reply)...
Last saturday I installed a set of H&R Standard coilovers on my DC. What I've got a question on is whether or not the fork is supposed to sit like shown in the picture? It looks like it should be pushed up to the welded / notched point, but this is as far as I could get it to go. At the point the fork is at, the bolt that goes through one side of the fork also went in easily and could be hand-started, another reason why I thought it was at the right spot. Just want to make sure... any input? Oh yeah also, any tips on adjusting the height? They're a bitch to adjust when on the car!
PS - seriously a NIGHT AND DAY difference between these coilovers and the adjustable sleeves that were on the car before.

usually that extra space is for the brake line bracket. Does the h&r shock have a dent or identation where the bolt from the fork screws in? If it does then i would keep it where its at right now. Either way it doesnt really matter

Ok AlFaaay, i see what you're saying. That is the way they are supposed to sit.
Honestly, i think the only way to make the task of adjusting the coilovers a bit more simple is is spraying the coils and threads on the body with WD40. When you turn them, they spin a tad more freely, but still require elbow grease.
Its mainly due to the preload the coils have to begin with. On the bright side of things, that preload makes the ride super comfy and perform when it needs to.
