Default Intake manifolds

I am in the middle of a ls/vtec build. I have two intake manifolds, a pr3 and a p30. I was wondering which manifold is better then the other. i know that the pr3 has a added do-hicky on the top of the manifold that just has a vaccum hose running off of it to the intake piping, anyone know what that is (if the description made absoultey any sense). But mainly im interested in which one is better.

The PR3 has a dashpot mounted on the top of it. It basically controls engine rpm when you take the car out of gear (smoothes it out).

The P30 should flow better. Some here will claim that it is better than an ITR manifold, but I seriously doubt it. If you have the extra cash, I would suggest going with an AEBS typhoon. It will outperform not only the PR3 and the P30, but also the ITR.

You could also depending on what type of head you have get a newer intake manifold. Then that'll do away with most of the vaccum hoses.

anyone else have an oppinion on this....i do like the idea that the p30 has less vaccum hoses....but how nice is it to have the dashpot? ill give you more detail on what im running and then maybe someone will have a straight answer to what i should run from the two.

98 integra b18b1 block
pr3 b16a head (not sure what year, i believe its the 95 del sol)
crower stage 1 cams
type-r valve train
Blue printed
shot peened rods
balanced
arp head studs
13.5:1 Compression
Sir pistons
DC Sport header
Clutchmasters aluminum flywheel
Action stage 2 clutch

the engine is already together, bolt-on will be soon ie. ignition system, upgraded fuel system. but for the momment that is what i have. now i just have the two manifolds and not sure which one would be better.

p30. Less vaccum hoses is nicer to the eye also. If it didn't come with the dashpot from factory, then it's not that necessary then is it?

find a book at your local auto store, its called how to build honda horsepower. it has a dyno sheet for every product tested. and if i remember correctly the b16 manifold off of a del sol outperformed everything, even the type r, even the aftermarket manifolds it was tested against. i think the only way they got more hp than the stock del sol mani was to get it extrude honed.

I'd just use the P30 since you have it already.

that book has been out for a while..it might not have all the parts ur lookin for...however , i think the dyno graphs would be cool to have handy....do they test the products one by one on different series honda motors??? do they have dyno results for different combos?

thanx for all the help. ill switch everything over to the p30 if its a better manifold. spent around $11G's on this engine...might as well not down perform this engine with a shitty manifold.....
