Default Need to re-tune after DC Collector Mod?

My question is, if I have the Collector on my DC 4-2-1(i know, get a real header..bla bla bla ) chopped and opened to 2.5, will it be enough of a change to warrant another trip to the dyno to tune again? Could it possibly cause me to lean out up top? The rest of my exhaust is all 2.5", I just don't know if the extra size on the collector will make that much difference. I hear people saying that they have seen decent gains by modding the collector. What do you guys think? I'd realy rather not have to make the 4hr drive to get tuned again, not to mention another few hundred $$. Maybe just add 1-2PSI fuel pressure if leaning might be an issue? My current tune runs great, I'm just worried I might fudge it up.

My setup:
H22
JRSC 6psi
Hondata S200
AEM CAI
Custom 2.5", 15" res, N1

im pretty sure you will be ok.....but the dc isnt the best to do it on....

my current greddy (really trust, its jdm w00t) with 2.5 collector done by IB did real well, and that would require some tuning, but flow a lot better than a dc with it.....

ps my header is for sale.....

retunning means spending money to tune hondata.....which isnt exactly cheap. Its nothing major. I wouldnt worry about it.

do you happen to have wideband?

No wide-band

So although modding some other headers will provide better results, do you still feel it's a worthy mod for a DC?

personally, i dont thinking Doing anything to the DC is worth it. I think you would be just as good with the factory header.

Why not? You can get a decent DC Sports Header for under $300. Collector Modification is usually around $100 or less.

That's $400 for a DC Sports Header w/ 2.5" Collector that allows more power to be made.

$400 is less than what AN-R/Prospeed/Rage, SMSP, HyTech, and DTR Fab Headers are going for.

The power gains might not be as good, but if the person has a fairly stock motor, it'll do it's job.

I have a dyno somewhere on my computer if I can find it. But bascially, motor made 188WHP with DC Sports and 192WHP with AN-R. However, it lost a lot of mid-range power (as much as 8 - 10WHP), and it only made more power after 6900RPM. Then I went to the tracks, and my car ran slower overall. This was all tuned w/ Hondata.

I just noticed that you're boosted with a JRSC. Any changes in boost response?

Otherwise, borrow a wideband do some WOT runs to verify that you're not running lean. The JRSC fuel system should be able to compensate for the additional exhaust flow, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Right now boost response is great, as it probably is with all SCers. If I remember correctly, I'm at full boost (~6.5psi) by the time I hit 2500rpm, and I can't see how any exhaust changes would effect that.
I will try to borrow a WB O2 for sure, but I have no JR piggyback, all running on the Hondata. I'm not as concerned with the leaning as I am with the question of is it worth doing with the DC and my setup.

Thanks for the replies
