Default MSD cap fitment problems with a twist...confused...help please!

So here is the problem...I just bought a built b18c to do a swap into my DA. I had originally bought an MSD cap and coil for the b18a that was in it, so since I had the coil i decided to get one for the b18c. So the cap comes, and one of the bolt holes (left one) would not line up whatsoever. Thinking the part was defective, I sent it back to Summit only to be sent a cap with the same exact thing going on. Out of curiosity, I decided to try the cap from my b18a on it, and it fit perfectly! Now what the hell does this mean, is it an ls distributor? If so, will that cause problems, as in should a b18c distributor be used? All insight would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Are you sure the dizzy that came with the motor is the right one? As far as using a Ls dizzy on the gsr i dont think that is going to work. If all else fails just buy a dizzy and cap for the b18c.
