Installed H&R Coilovers, did I do this correctly? w/pic
Last saturday I installed a set of H&R Standard coilovers on my DC. What I've got a question on is whether or not the fork is supposed to sit like shown in the picture? It looks like it should be pushed up to the welded / notched point, but this is as far as I could get it to go. At the point the fork is at, the bolt that goes through one side of the fork also went in easily and could be hand-started, another reason why I thought it was at the right spot. Just want to make sure... any input? Oh yeah also, any tips on adjusting the height? They're a bitch to adjust when on the car!
PS - seriously a NIGHT AND DAY difference between these coilovers and the adjustable sleeves that were on the car before.

I can't say for certain that is right or wrong...but I did have the same coilovers....
I am pretty certain with every kit I came across, the fork should be mounted all the way up.
I suggest you get a little persuasive with a hammer and beat the bottom legs of the fork upwards in gentle taps while applying some lube to the damper.
the dampers will always be difficult to adjust once on car... you just have to develop your own knuckel bashing/skinning technique....keep the threads lubricated with some anti-seize to prevent oxidation/stuck perches...

is there a notch to indicate the height where the pinch bolt is supposed to go? if not, then slide the fork up. use a screwdriver and wedge it in the gap to open the fork up a bit.
if there is a notch for the pinch bolt, then just leave it there.

from your stock shocks, you can hammer the "mounting bracket" for the brake line off (this will give u the little notch that the h&r dont have. you can then put this mounting bracket on the h&r coilovers, and it will help line up. if i remember correctly, there is a groove on the h&r for the bolt to slide into.
hope that helps
