long blocks are just the motor. No tranny, no shifter linkage, no alternator, no belts, just a longblock...A shortblock is a longblock without the cylinder head. There is no difference between a gsr motor and a gsr longblock, just a different amount of parts you get with each. Like if you had a teg, you would need a gsr longblock to sway. But it you had a civic, and wanted a gsr motor in it, you would need to fork out alittle more dough for a gsr motor, with all the extras.

not true, alot of longblocks come with alternator and belts. they just dont come with the tranny and shirter linkage.

Long Block= Block w/ all internals + head assembly

Short Block= Block with all internals and NO HEAD assembly
