well if you're not doing it at high rpms, you'll stall
. well i'm not the best at this but just start off resting your toes on the brake(applying only a lil), then turn your heel and over rev it a lil coz we're not pros yet and you dotn want to mess up. (this is how i do it, not sure if its right) when the rpms are on its way up, slowly let go of the clutch and it should work fine.
correct me where i'm wrong you pro autoX0rs

mebbe I should take a short mpeg of my f00twork and post it up.
oh, remember it's called Heel & Toe but you do not use your heel! It should be called ball of f00t and outside of f00t. hrm, on 2nd thought it doesn't flow as well as heel n toe

Practice on 5th to 4th downshifts at first, when coming to a stop at a traffic light, no turning...then work your way down until you can hit a 3rd -> 2nd gear heel-toe downshift.
That's kinda how I learned to double clutch. Practice makes perfect.

I wear a 9 and a half. No need for aftermarket pedals. It's cheaper and more effective to upgrade the driver, that way the driver can move to other cars with crappy setups and heel-toe like a champ. I used to be horrible at this, but now I can do it in any car I hop into.
Wanna practice? Stand pigeon toed and on the ***** of your feet. Lower yourself without letting your heels touch the ground, and then come back up. Now at idle, with the car in neutral, try basically the same thing. Put the ball of your foot on the brake, and then try to pump the gas pedal by planting your heel in the bottom right corner of the footwell. Don't hold it there, just bounce down and come back up. The key is to make sure that you maintain constant pressure on the brake pedal. Some people don't do this correctly, and it's very easy to slip into the bad habit of easing up on the brakes. Ask me how I know...
Once you get the hang of it at a stop, you can start doing it as you slow down going into 2nd gear. It's easiest if you aren't coming to a complete stop.
EDIT: I'm really starting to hate this filtering system.

Also, I used to sit really far foreward. Once I moved back to where my leg is almost fully extended when I depress the clutch, I found 3 pedal shifts a lot easier. I felt like there was a lot more room because my legs weren't all bunched up.
Boy...I have been trying my best to imitate the BM videos!

You should see footage of Walter Roehrl dancing on the pedals during the old Group B Rally days. It's like watching a ballet.

sit close enough so you can heel toe comfortably. Also people say that sit close so that both your shoulders are rested on the seats while you reach and rest your wrists on the steering wheel.
One thing about heal-and-toe is that it is hard to do unless your are fully on the brake.
Best way I have found to practice is when coming to a stop at a light. Make sure there is no1 behind you, use full brake and heal-and-toe into every grear down to 1st. Once you can do that perfect everytime without jumping the car around, you have mastered heal-and-toe.

how bad can it hurt the tranny if we mess up, ie; leting out the clutch too fast and having the rpms too low(not rev-matching well enough), like making the car feel like you hit the brakes?
