Discount Auto Parts.

Or you can buy the uber expensive Sp00n.

BTW, the tranny one is 100% useless... unless you want to buy B18CXr's old one....

check out ebay under spoon. There was a person selling spoon copies for cheap. If you want even cheaper, about $3.00 go to your local auto parts store. Kragens, Pepboys, autozone

Yep, a Pep Boys or Trak Auto should have them for $3.xx a pop.

Will: Yep, I'm 100% sure. Take apart a tranny and you'll see why. Or just ask Yack, he knows why now. If you don't have the answer by the expo, ask and I'll lay down da science.

There's already a big fat magnet inside your tranny. It's about 10x bigger than the magnet on the spoon plug.

Drain plug is higher so it collects it first? I think that's impossible to answer without mounting a video camera in the tranny and grinded the chit out of someones tranny. lol

Either way, I'm *never* seen metal come out of a bseries tranny but everyone I've seen apart has had some metal on the mag.

So Dave, are the gears all plastic? or was your tranny empty when you opened it up?

BudMan - who's just jealous he didn't have the time or $$ to open his case up & change gearing when he did the clutch/flywheel in January - lol

lol jeff being a smart ***

I'll rephrase: "I've never seen any metal come out of a bseries tranny during a fluid change, but have seen metal on the huge focking magnet located inside of the transaxle casing"

First tranny flush (with plug install) at 2435 miles.
Tranny flushed again at 6315 miles (picture taken).

Two HPDE's on the fluid/tranny before the pictures were taken.

For those who think I can't drive a stick...
I avg. ~37,000-39,000 miles a year behind the wheel of a car. ALL of which are stick shifts.

The drain plug does do something.

i still think it's useless, but for $3.50, can't hurt... big magnet will take care of all...

I agree. It's proven that the drain plug magnet will pick up the shavings before they get to the big focking magnet in the tranny case

We'll just have to pull apart our trannies at the expo to prove eachother right......

Dave - pull mine apart & we'll change the gears! (If I get a job by then what's $250?? )

Sound like a plan - I'm up to 80,000 miles & surely my BIG magnet needs a little cleaning!

We'll have plenty of ITR's to use as vices at the expo! We can do it, just need some hammers and a gear puller.

Serious?

I did my clutch/flywheel/tranny on my CX last night in just under 3 hours.
Jackstands and hand tools suck compared to air tools and a lift.
