I know that help is always fruitful...but the amount of people i have seen who wanted an S2000, and before they got one started talking about what they wanted to put on it...then when they ACTUALLY BOUGHT ONE they changed their mind completely, its just a better idea to actually get the car...see how it drives (and no, driving one for a minute on night in your life doesnt count as DRIVING it)...you may see a whole new light of what you want to do when you get it. That and until you have it, you have no idea what kind of budget you'll have so who knows what you'll even be able to afford once its in your hands...
I dont mean to be rude or anything, you gotta understand, theres a thread like this every other day on here..."I was thinking about getting an S2000..." If i had a dime for everytime thats been said since ive been here id be rich...then "What do you think i should do first?" Id be twice as rich for every time that has been said.
Personally...i dont think most people realize just how much work is involved or money invested to properly turbo an S2000 to make good power without destroying the engine...which is another reason why i think the best idea is to get one, see how you like it and then decide, ask question then that would be more fruitful for us to actually answer, and would legitimately help you in your quest to make it faster.

Look at some of the turbo'ed S2000's on this website, look at their modification list and see what exactly it takes to make an S2000 boosted properly...a simple kit off Ebay will get you started, but is no where near everything...ALOT more work and many more parts than will be included with a kit like that. Seriously, do some research, you'll save yourself some headache down the road when you realize that that $2,500 turbo kit you thought would go right on the S2000 needs a good bit more work and cash to really do anything worth while...F/I on this car is NOT cheap.
turbochargers are great...i had one on my s2000 as well....but if u really learn how to drive the car...you will realize that this car is not made for a str8 line.....dump ur money into some nice wheels and suspension....run the basic bolt ons and u will be more then happy

nicely said.
even with simple bolt on's, it can cost a lot. for example, if you go with the j's intake and the amuse exhaust..that is like 1200+2500..3700. you still need a header. match it up with a j's header?? almost 5000 or around 5000. now, you need the jdm bling, so you need some volk's. that is like 2000. you now need tires to go with it..the tires are almost 1000 dollars..if you plan to go like 225's in the front and 255's in the back.
go test drive a s2000 and make it look as if ur really into buying it and test drive it for a while. s2000=great track car. if you are buying this car for straight line performance, you should look into other cars.

And an a more optimal ECU.
And an a more optimal ECU.
Just to let you know, if you plan on going full blown expect to not be able to do it for less then 10-15k. I've got around 17k tied up in my turbo setup and motor right now. It's not cheap. But serisouly get some time behind the wheel, and then decide what you want to do.
