Hey gang,

Well this is my first post, I picked up a black metalic prelude. 183k miles about 3 months ago. I was driving home from work and the timing belt broke. I was accelerating when i heard a muffled thud and I started coasting. has anyone broken a belt on a 91 prelude 2.0? is it an interference motor? should I start looking for another car? thanks for your help.

 

For some reason I am not able to get responses... can anyone answer this question. I am wondering if 300 dollars is worth finding out if the motor is shot.. (not refundable) any thoughts on that? any replies would be great

im in the process of changing a snapped belt for a 90 lude. however its the 2.1L version (4WS). im just slapping another belt on to see if its gonna run right without pulling the head off, if its shot then its shot.
