they're talkin about this in another thread I just posted on, the stock VX engine isn't great, it has VTEC-E which is nothing like VTEC because it changes the cam profile for better gas milage ONLY, where as regualr VTEC changes the cams essentially to go faster. The other thing someone brought up is that the gears are really tall which makes for really poo pooy acceleration. However, the VX is a great cantidate for a VTEC engine swap because only it and the Si had VTEC for the 5th gen and so it makes the wiring a lot easier.
I made good power out of my motor that uses a VX chassis
I tried damn near everything to squeeze power out of the stock motor in my VX and nothing really worked out. I never went with forced induction on it because I saved up for my swap. After I dropped in the B18C1 motor then I was happy. The motor does have some potential but I chose the swap instead.
