mpfi swap fuel problem........help?!?
i did a mpfi swap on my 91 hatch. it started and ran (for a couple seconds, till i shut it off). my problem is that its spraying fuel out between the fuel rail and all the injectors. i took the fuel rail off and torqued it back down to specs, but it still had the same problem. also, there's almost no way that 4 o-rings could be bad, but i might try replacing them.
here are my questions:
1. could anything i did during the swap have changed the fuel pressure?
2. are there supposed to be those spacers between the fuel rail and the intake manifold?
3. on a totally different note, there was no plug on my std harness for the intake air temp sensor, does it matter?

there are some fat O-rings that the injectors sit on, then the little caps on the end of the injectors sometimes break. they're supposed to be changed if the injectors are detatched from the fuel rail.
Was the IAT plug broken off? They're christmas colored wires.. one red/something one green/something. You should find it lol

i think that the o-rings are fine, but i'm going to try changing them.
i couldn't find the iat plug. when i looked in my manual, it had the iat listed only under the mpfi system.

did u lube the orings b4 shoving them back in......if u didnt then may have torn or shed some of the rubber off.....also just keep priming ur engine and wiggling ur injectors, once they find a sweet spot they should just pump straight through.....remember u got lots of air in that fuel rail of urs there, and air compresses differently than gas
We had a same problem on a friends car we did.
We replaced the o rings and everythign turned out fine.
also, do you have the plastic red dognughts that the fuel rail sits on installed?
