Grove Creek Raceway (Oval Dirt Track Racing) May 21st (14 Photos)
Sorry for the large number of photos, I just couldn't remove some of them. I did a quick edit job on these. My brother races the #9 Total Recreation car. Thought you guys might like these as they're a bit different then what's normally posted up. This is the first time I've gotten to shoot from the infield, so I was beyond excited when I was down there. I think I'm unofficailly the track photog now... LOL

All shots were handheld.

Suprisingly there was no dust... However my dad and unlce said they were blasted with dust.... i think its from the exhaust from the cars pointing towards the outside of the track.... *shrugs* ...no clue

pretty clean shots.
they are modifieds, right?
my machinist builds those things. He said they have chevy 462 big blocks that make like 800hp at 8000rpms.
I love seeing the trick chassis setups they have. Some pretty blinging calipers and dampers on those things.

In the midwest here you can have anything from a 305 to a 4xx what ever in it. My brother has a 406 (I think) ...and its pretty damn powerful... not sure how high he revs it. I will find out.
There are other modifieds, like the ones in the southern states that look a bit different. Those ones are even more powerful....
