P1457 Evap emissions...what if i let it go?
I don't notice any performance loss or anything. Will this do any permanent damage to the vehicle? I just don't have the money yet to have it fixed, and I'm definatly not dropping the tank to change the valve. (i did troubleshooting and seems like that is the solonoid that is bad) Someone said its common in states where they use salt for the roads. I am talking about a civic si, but you guys always have the answers

Yes, your car will self destruct after 5,000 miles with that code!
O.K., you will be fine. It just indicates a leak in the EVAP system; some people have been known to disable the EVAP system altogether. It's bad for the environment though

if you are refering to emissions testing, just make sure you dont have a pending code, cuz i have the same code and before the check engine light comes on a pending code appears with my scan tool.
