what is the proper Offset for aftermarket wheels?
I'm looking to buy a set of rota attacks, but Im not sure what offset to choose. What does the offset determine and what should I choose? They offer 40, 45 and 48. I would liek to put 205/55 tires on them.
TIA,
Chris

Does it rub at all?
I would like to lower it about 2" after teh new rims. I currently have 17" Shu's with 205/50.

For a 7" wide wheel, you'll want no less than a +40 offset. +45 would also work.
Do not use 205/55 tires with 15" or 16" wheels, the outer diameter will be too large. Stick with a 195/50 or 205/50 for 15", and 205/40 or 205/45 for 16".

well, I have 205/50 on my 17's currently. When you say the outer diameter would be too large...are you saying it would rub with a 55 profile on 15" wheels?

might not rub, but it's taller than stock and will hurt performance.
i can't believe you fit 205/50/17's with no rubbing
i opted for a +40mm offset for 16", looks perfect to me
