Which street drivable clutch for 500-600hp
Which clutch would be best for a daily driven 500-600hp machine? Would a clutchnet 6 puck and dual diaphram pressure plate hold up? What about a clutchmasters stage 3? It will be street driven so I want it to have a sprung hub.
The ClutchNet Stage 4 (6-puck/dd pressure plate) will hold 700+ horsepower. It is a race clutch and isn't the easiest to drive on the street but you have to make compromises for the holding power.

im gonna be running a twin-disc osg in my car... i wouldnt really trust that much power with a "regular" clutch... ull just burn it up first run

what kind of material are you running on your twin disk?
if you got cash to build that car then you have spare change enough to buy a tilton or an hks twin!
P.S. clutches are rated by Tq not HP, there can be a huge difference ie. you can make 600hp at 12000rpm but only have 300lbs of Tq or 600HP and 500tq, makes alot of difference when choosing the appropriate clutch. My wrench is remaning clutch net disks with carbon and adding a set of fingers to presure plate just double stock pedal effort.

tilton is the way to go. its the ultimate rebuildable clutch 3500 bucks well wroth the investment.
i agree 110%, but i'm on a budget and the twin disc was definatly a hook up. the tilton would be my first purchase if i ever got any sponsor money.
i agree with out big name sponsors not the AVG joe can afford a tilton thats for sure. If you dont own or do this for a living its just not worht it.
I do it for fun/living in the summer, i take everybody's money , who next! but I still wont drop that coin on a tilton, I like to slip out of the bucket till second gear.
do you guys know if your synchros goes bad do you have to rebuild the whole transmission?? how much would it cost to replace the synchros??
I also will probably have no sponsers so money will be short. So the clutchnet 6puck w/ dd pressure plate should be able to hold this? I will be using a high redline(9k-9.5k) + med-high boost to make power so I plan to keep torque around 350ft/lbs.
I've got a Clutchnet 6 puck stage 2 in my car now... clutch felt REALLY wacko at first, but it's "breaking in" I guess... Much better FEEL to it than my old 4 puck ceramic Clutchmasters. Both of my clutches have been sprung hub.

sounds good. im having a real hard time deciding between the os giken, and the tilton metal. but it also sounds like the clutch masters is a possibility.
Tilton, yeah if money were no object. CM 4 is holding well here, but I've yet to hit the 400's. We'll see what happens. OSG would be my next bet.
at 500-600 hp those cheap single's don't cut it. seriously. when those things let loose it takes out the tranny and the block.
Im on a budget as well. Im hoping the CM5 will take care of what I need.. Tilton would be nice if I had rich parents or some big corporate backing.. speaking of that our team was close to getting a huge sponsorship with Bill Crutchfield... a semi with lifts and all! He is going to find out next year that he should have invested in someone thats in the know.. haha.. oh well its just going to be a little longer before I go supa fast.
