Temp goes up when car isnt moving
my 96 VTEC has had some temp problems as of late. its fine as long as the car is actually moving and there's air blowing in the front of it but when its sitting still (in a drive-thru for example) the temp gauge goes up. then once i start driving again the temp goes back to normal. i suppose it wouldnt hurt to check the coolant but could my radiator be shot?
does this happen with the ac on or off? if on then check your condenser fan.
and the obvious, check coolant level. and replace your thermostat.

I could be your radiator fan.. check to see if it comes on after a while if not then it could be the connector need cleaning or the fan could be broken.... also if that doesn't work it could be the fan switch too.. good luck
he should also be able to hear it. check to make sure that ur good on ur coolant level. also make sure that when ur car is on, both radiator hoses are both hot and they both should be at the same temp. if one is cooler than the other, that means ur thermostat is broken. make sure ur radiator cap is working too. that could also lead to overheating.
