Basically I'm waiting for my gsr head to be finished, and I was wondering if a b16 head would go on the block without any complications. I have the manifold and head still and cam caps, and I know the combustions chamber is smaller but i didn't know if it could work just to drive for a couple weeks.Another opinion would be appreciated!!
The B16 head is the same head as the Type R head minus some light port work. It's combustion chambers are actually slightly larger which would drop your comp ratio by about .2 vs a GSR head. you can use either one you want without problem, do some reading/searching on hear and you'll learn a lot.

Thanx man, basically what im doing is putting stage 2 skunk 2s in fully built head but gsr head has crack in it, so i can get a b16 head free, otherwise buy another gsr just trying to get some other opinions on this b/c i want to keep the compression up there you know, i don't want to lose any.
Just use a thinner 2 layer head gasket from Cometic or Toda etc and it will compensate for using the b16 head compression wise.
