I notice the two things on my b16 intake manifold "dashpot" and "up", i heard you can remove the dashpot, but what does up do? can you remove it?

 

nothing just remove it my 91 integra had one and it broke works the same without

The dashpot keeps the throttle from closing completely under deceleration. Its
basically to make it smoother for on/off throttle situations at higher RPM. Useless
for most of us, but helpful for when your grandmother drives the car.

 

ok i removed "up" now what do you use to block the hole in your intake manifold

Make something. Get a plate, maybe an o-ring as well from an autoparts store and fab it up.
