Default turbo h22

looking for some advice on a turbo set up. i have a fully built h22 in a civic hatch and want to know what turbo i should get. this a drag car built for tracks use only and what something that will help me get down to 10's 1/4 mile. what size and what brand would be a good one for this set up? what type of turbo are you guys using?

Turbonetics or Garrett. Ball bearing T04. That'll be the size I use. Or you could go stupid and get a T66

Also, if you don't have them yet, get some cams ground for turbo use to help eliminate the overlap. You'll be much happier.

Full T4? That's no fun for a street driven car.

Eh... it's fun when it spools up!

That's why I'm leaving the NOS kit in also.

What turbo would you use for a street setup?

What about a T3/T4 B series with a Super V, Stage 3, .63A/R? Are these any good for the H22A engines? This ia what the DRAG kit comes with.

t3/t4 is what everyone has. it's a smaller turbo and will spool up. I think it's more made for the smaller displacment cars like the 1.6 del slow (minus hocus pocus h22a delsol)

t3/t4 is def not for just the smaller 4 cylinder's. that is still a decent sized turbo able to handle a lot of hp.

i'd go with a full T4 turbo for your "built H22",even for a daily driver.

I haven't read much on turboed H22s, but most of the guys in know with turboed hondas in general use a T4, street driven. However, my buddy with a 2000 GSR just installed a T56 turbo. He spins tires just by hitting VTEC in first couple gears and doesn't get as much traction as he would like (he's rolling on 17s and is only running 4lbs of boost so far--has some tuning and small work to be done still). I think he's going for a daily driven 10-12psi...but I'm not sure

A T04 is VERY streetable for me. But it all depends on what YOU consider streetable. I was running race gas in every tank, so streetable to me basically is having headlights and a tag.

Like dustin's sig says,
"reliability, fast, cheap... pick two."

A prelude can make 400 hp with a nicely sized T3/T4. Sure a T4 will make more power at 7000 rpms, but the damn thing won't spool until 6500. Bigger isn't always better.

To each his own though.

ok here it is. A T3/T4 will push up to 40psi. That is plenty big enough for an H22. I would go with a revhard race kit. As for 400HP on a turbo h22. You can easily do that on stock internals.

40 psi on one turbo is not the same as 40 psi on another turbo. There are many things to consider in a turbo...efficiency, flowrate, surge limit, etc.

400 whp on stock internals? That's absurd. You'll destroy your ringlands.
