New 1995 Lude vtec ....First mods????
Hey i used to have a 1991 Honda Civic Hatchback Si and i did most of the work 2 it i have sold that and now bought a 1995 Prelude vtec. I LOVE IT ... it has alot of torque and pulls hard in vtec . as of now i have Iceman cold air intake and a Thermal catback exhaust. What is some advice on my next mods or should i replace the ones i have already? i am lookin for more top end like makin my vtec stronger or helpin it get to vtec quicker. I know my clutch is slippin right now any suggestion on which clutch i should get for it and where 2 look. So basicly I'm just lookin for some ideas and some favorites mods that is
first of all, welcome to the board.
my personal opinion on your situation stands as this: fix any known problems first, then worry about performance. of course, if fixing a known problem is an opportunity upgrade possibility, as many problems turn out to be, that's two birds with one stone.
on my prelude, a 93 4th gen like yours, i have an LUK stage 2 clutch. that's the type of clutch that comes on dodge vipers, for a reference. i think it's a very powerful clutch and i've had no problems with it. if your clutch is slipping already, it wouldn't be a lot of extra money to go ahead and replace it with a better one. after that, since you've already got the intake and exhaust, maybe some headers or some internal engine work. the options are limitless.
just remember, bud, to make a prelude go fast is a very expensive project, due to the weight and the fact that it's an FF. you can make it respectable, at least, for moderate funding. good luck to ya!

If the clutch is slipping, that's the first thing that should be fixed. Get a 8.5lb flywheel and a clutch. I suggest an Exedy race clutch for $240. The Fidanza flywheel is not expensive either. Approx. $180 shipped.
What else is wrong with the car??
How many miles??
How do you like the Thermal exhaust?? Is it the Classic?? I have one. I LOVE it!
