the cams might give u an extra 5hp, i personally never used them but thats a rough guess. its nearly impssible to tell from pics like that, you pretty much have to check them with a micrometer the be sure.

maybe, i wouldnt get too anxious though. the type s also has higher compression. higher compression alone makes power, then combine it with a higher lift cam, and the extra compression makes the cam more efficient, etc. i think you get the idea.

my guess is you wont gain much with those mods alone, but combined with an intake and a maybe a good vafc tune you should see better results

I made over 200whp on type-s cams and a header... but I can't tell if the header and cams will get you there judging by your pictures. Get a micrometer and measure the VTEC lobe and PM me I can tell you if they are or not.

I just dropped a set of Type S cams, adj cam gears last week. Cam gears are all at 0. I 'm having an untuned VAFC but still feel noticable gain. I 'm waiting for my catback, hi flow cat, and then hit the dyno. I hope I will make around 200whp along with other mods. Wish me luck! And good luck to you too S7H.

I hope you have a *good* header... It took me a lot of tuning to get 200whp. I hope your VAFC is adequate.

I believe you. I don't have a good header. I have a shitty DC, plan to wrap it soon with Thermotec. I dyno tuned my VAFC before when my car was still an auto with fewer mods than now, I gained 9whp and some area near the top I gained the largest of 14whp. I think VAFC for now is ok not too bad.

Markings are a J and a K on either cam....
HiCam lobe size is 36.85mm or 1.45 inches...

Hi PirateMcFred,

I have the current engine setup:

- Mugen header
- Greddy evo I exhaust
- Magnaflow hi flow cat
- Type S intake
- VAFC II (untuned yet)

Do you think that adding a set of used type S cams can get me to the 200 WHP (and tuning) ?

Thanx

Mart

All OEM H22 except inner springs and retainers for a little insurance in case of over-rev, adj cam gears and a custom header/2.25" exhaust (that could have been better).

Not real likely but you never know you could have a strong motor. It's all in the tuning and a VAFC is not real high on the list of great tuning devices.

It's all in the tune guys...
