Default Y1 with LSD or YS1 with LSD Tranny???

Which one is the best tranny to use with a B16A? The Y1 with LSD or a YS1 with LSD also. I'm considering Y1, what do guys think?

YS1 all the way, don't bother with Y1, the FD is too low for good acceleration on a NA car, second, clutch selection sucks, third they are older and weaker then the YS1...

YS1 can be used with ITR clutch (pp and disc) which is cheap upgrade
YS1 is going to make the car quicker
YS1 better design less, grinding gears
YS1 LSD = Y21/S21 LSD
YS1 can be even fitted with 4.7FD with some mods
YS1 is cool

need to say more

What mods would you need to do to fit a 4.78 FD into the YS1?

I assume your talking about the 92-93 GSR cable style YS1? Yeah, if you can find one get it! Especially if it already has the LSD.

Yeah, 200 bucks is dirt cheap. I'd be weary of it. The USDM 90-93 Integra came with a ys1 tranny. The GSR tranny supposedly has the same gearing as the USDM ITR but in cable form with no LSD. The JDM 92-93 Integra RSi/XSi ys1 came with an optional LSD which also has the same gearing as the USDM ITR.

It all depends on what application youre going with, if you intend on going boost or something, just go with the y1 w/lsd. But for naturally aspirated, go with the ys1/(lucky as hell if you got an lsd for it). the gears are better( comparable to the usdm type R), and plus it has a 4.4 final drive, which the y1 doesnt( gay *** 4.266). Plus you can use any 92 and up hydro or cable clutch( as long as the cable clutch is for the 92-93 gsr), beacuse the ys1's spline is slightly larger than the y1(which uses the ls clutch). hopefully you wont have any grinds, which is common in cables. Fitting the type R final requires some shaving of the beel housing, which is very minor, but you might as well go with a 4.9 final, which costs out the *** but is well worth it.

peace

can limited slip differentials be swapped from one tranny to another?

i.e. could you take the LSD out of a Y1 and put it into a S1 or a YS1?
