Car hesitates whats wrong?
Driving in 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear around 3-3.5k my car kind of hesitates then it goes. It only does it every so often but I want to get is solved before its constant. My car is coming up on 90k. It has new plugs and wires, I am thinking maybe its time for cap and rotor?

Sounds like a good plan. Does it do it mostly at full throttle?

It doesnt do it at all during full throttle, it only does it every so often when I am cruising around town when I go to tap the gas.

Ooh, hmm... Yeah, what Dubber said, TPS could be it! Too bad you don't have a code to work with
. You could use a voltmeter to see if it's a nice smooth sweep from ~0V to ~4.9V (I think that's what Hondas are, not sure). If it jumps somewhere, probably in light/part throttle, that could do it.

hmmm care to elaborate a bit more on how the TPS works? I had this same exact problem a long time ago on a B16 and replaced the usual ignition and fuel stuff but it never really got much better and never diagnosed it. Im now wondering if it was related to the TPS.

Throttle posision sensor is like a potentiometer... It does a pretty linear sweep of voltage (0-5V, or .7 to 4.2, or whatever) so that the ECU can correct fuel even before the MAP reads a pressure difference. Etc.

"Symptoms of a bad or mis-adjusted TPS include variying idle speed, hesitation while accelerating, poor fuel economy, and inabiltiy to correctly set base ignition timing."
So, if the TPS wasn't reading the right voltage, you might get a hesitation when you tip-in on the throttle.
I had a CEL for a TPS once, on a Cavalier, and the symptom was bizarre drivability (super bad hesitation, etc.) because the ECU had no idea how fast the throttle was being opened. The TPS code caused the ECU to ignore the TPS altogether and that was the result. It was due to a bad adjustment. (

More details googled here..

Im going to Acura tomorrow to get my cap and rotor if that doesnt do it then im going to wait to get back to the expo and im going to do my TPS. I changed my fuel filter at 75k, so it still should be good.
