Default Max RPM you have taken your car to?

Yesterday night in 4th gear i took the B16B up to 8652rpm which is coser to 8900rpm on the meter.
All this on a stock CTR ECU,and stock internals.
I thought CTR ecu is suppose to have a rev limiter at around 8400rpm or so?

Whats everyone else's max?

No, a stock CTR ecu should redline at 9,000rpms. Grow some ***** and wind it out.

My frineds Type-R Teg revs out to 9,200 RPMs, that pic shows nothing

I had my old D16Z6 that had some aftermarket internal goodies up to 8 grand once before i floated a valve.....

I had my D16 Z6 up to 4300. I was lucky I did not blow it up.

You're cutting out almost all of the fun part :D

I've had my d16 up to 8- 8.5k... I downshifted at the wrong time, it sounded pretty bad.

You're an idiot.

The measure of a good motor (or driver) is not how high it can be revved. What a stupid statement, calling his 8600 "nothing"....quit comparing dicks and grow up.

I used to hit peak hp at right around 8600rpm's. Revved it up to 9k on the dyno to see how high we should take it. There is no reason to rev a motor to 11k unless it continues to go up in power that high.

9300 on Mugen built head... but it stops making power over 8600 so I stopped revving that high [still fun to hear it scream though].

So you didn't have any "internal goodies" if you floated a valve at 8,000 RPM. You just wanted to rev the **** out of your engine and you paid the price. Just because you can rev to 11,000 RPM, doesn't mean it's making power up there and isn't going to blow up soon. Just because your head is built for 10,000 RPM, that doesn't mean your block is. Just a thought...

let my ex race here and there and many times she has just floored it and left it bouncing off the 9000 rpm rev limiter.

My turbo d16y8 makes peak power at 7100rpms... that's why I set the rev limiter to 7200. Stock everything.

uberdata'ed my ECU in my EM1 and loaded up a basemap somebody made for me. Well, they set the rev limiter to 9400 for some fucked up reason. I take the car out for a nice "spirited" drive and the first time I wrap it out in 2nd gear I look down and the RPM's are cruising passed the 8800 range or so. I damn near **** my pants. So 8800 on the tach was probably about 8700 or so on the motor. My tach was surisingly accurate. People say the EM1 has a rev limiter set at 8200. Mine hit around 8250 or so on the tach.
