Default Skunk2 S2 Black Valves any good?

Hi,

I just bought a set of Skunk2 valves for my (Turbo) GSR buildup which are black in color and stamped "S2" on the bottom. I have been hearing alot about valves mushrooming with the older Skunk2 Valves - are these the older or newer ones? How would I know?

Also is it recommended I use these valves? Motor is gonna be turbocharged once I break it in... You guys who have these can post your experience with these valves also

cant really help your question but a bump and some heresay i do have...

ive read a few like 2-4 post about how much skunk2 valve train sucks.. people complained about the stems snaping and like you said mushroming.. but you never know what was going on inside that motor or how the person drove the car you know?? personally i think skunk2 is a reputable company but others on this site tend to think different...

I have the flat Supertech black nitrate valves. They are supposed to be the same as the skunk 2 valves. No problems but I have only 150 miles on them. Try searching "supertech valves".

These valves are now made by Supertech. I run them in my car with no problems.
