Security for a CRX
Just wondering what, if any, tips anyone has for securing a CRX better.
I live in an area where there is generally low thefts, except the occasional radio theft (I have got 2 radios stolen in the last 5 years). My car has to sit at the very end of the driveway and I worry about it with some of the thefts I hear from my friends.
One thought I had was just to pull the main relay fuse every night and then weld a plate down on top of the bumper where the hood latch is. I realize its not a perfect setup, but it sounds like a pretty good start. I don't have the money to dump in to alarm systems and whatnot, and feel like I can make a more secure car without spending heaps.
Any other cheap, practical suggestions that you guys have done?

Expect some flames about not searching =/
Personally, I started by getting a viper security system at my local bestbuy. Cost less than $250.
Other ideas, remove stearing wheel, remove ecu, make a fuel pump kill switch or switches, etc.

I 2nd that alarm idea. The Viper 350hv system is around $230 w/basic install.
Add a pinswitch to your hood and you have a very good starting point.
Remember theives look for the path of least resistance...No security
system is just asking for trouble.

most domestics have them under the hood and most/all imports have them in the passenger commpartment near or in the dash.

I have an alarm and a removable steering wheel... since I installed the quick release I never activate the alarm anymore, I'll install a kill switch someday but any security system you get there is still a way to get around it. I've known way too many people that used to steal cars to have any faith left at all in alarm systems. Removable steering wheels are the way to go to keep your car sittin in your driveway; won't stop you from getting your stereo jacked but I don't have one so thats not my problem

My friend removes his ecu too. I am starting to think about the same, but I doubt if I want to get up in the morning and plug the wiring in. I might fail with my eyes still half closed.
I do wonder if there is an easier way. Like hiding a switch somewhere so it won't start.

Ah thanks. Here's what I've done/going to do, so far.
I have my hatch interior out, so I'm just going to manually disconnect the connectors every night. I'm wondering if maybe I could even get a metal lock box to put right over the connectors and weld in to place. In addition, I'm going to do a kill switch on the positive end of my battery. I realize these aren't perfect, and there are ways both of these could be circumvented, however I think it will trick up enough of the morons that they'll give up and look elsewhere. If its a pro, there really is no security method thats going to stop them. If they want it enough I'm probably fucked no matter what.
And as corny as it sounds, I might invest in a club... not because I think it works, but because if people look in the windows and see it, they might figure its too much of a hassle to deal with in the first place.

then why are u doing driving
i am the king of killswitches
i have a total of 19 switches hidden over the whole car. some are under/in/around the dash otheres are outside in a how-did-u-rig-that-up way. and others are in the engine bay/trunk. (yes it's a sedan.) ALL must be in a serton pattern before it will start and each one controls a engine-running-critical device (ecu, injector, ignition, etc...)

you ever afraid of someone watching your sequence of switch flipping?
You guys could try making the secondary key...

Main Fuel Relay switch... best bet... it will crank and crank but wont start... they'll think your hot rod is just busted... then you just worry about the tow trucks
but if they want it bad enough its good as gone anyway.
