Ideas for mod's because of extra cash
I just came into an extra 2,300 dollars to spend on my car. I was thinking about by the JUN2 cams and the Comptech 4-2-1 header and Skunk2 cams gears and raising compression up. I was also think about buying one of HKS GT Ball-Bearing Turbochargers or one of their HKS Signature Turbochargers and build a kit around it or just buying a kit off of someone. If I go turbo I have to save some more money and wait. If you had the extra cash how would you spend it.
Screw turbo on a C5. It's nice, but impractical IMO.
The header you listed will choke off the output potential of the cams, no matter which ones you decide on going with...
$2300 buys a JDM 4-1, 2.5" cat, cams/gears/retainers, and a v-afc...
However, I'd spend a little of that dough on track events

.....what mods do you have right now?
Good header and exhaust or final drive would be good upgrades for bone stock itr that will stay allmotor in the future.
For turbo, of course you'll need a bigger exhaust and turbo manifold, and turbo, ic, etc.....
Which way are you leaning towards and why?

I have a V-AFC, and APexi N1 exhaust, and a injen cold air intake. I was looking at the comptech beacuse it had good gain from the Great header test.
spec A toda cams
gears
a good header
save a few more bucks and get a nice set of coilovers
might want to add tires to this list if you haven't changed those stockers out yet

and recommending Skunk2? I wouldn't use Skunk2 on anything that I own.
Stick with Jun, Toda or Spoon. All of those companies make good products. You pay a little more, but isn't that worth the extra piece of mind?

what piece of mind?
skunk2 gears are fine. and i, like most people, am on a budget.
I can make that extra 100-150 go a long way.
But waste your money on all the jdm crap, its YOUR money afterall.

Going with an SMS shortly.
I got the mugen WAY back in 1997. Long before i knew better or before
anything else was out. Its better than the current spoon imo, and
probably one of the better ones out, but the JDM DC is about the same thing
for about 1/3 of the price.

I got the Spoon because of their reputation and the belief that they will cater to modifications I have planned better than all the other mass produced headers out there. I'm hitting the dyno once I install it. I'll see then if it's a champ or a chump
