Default Differential opinions...

Well, since the welded differential in my CX is causing more trouble than expected, I have decided to switch to a LSD. It'll be nice to make normal U-turns once again! LOL.

I am undecided. Quaife, Kaaz, or stock ITR.

Keep in mind this is not much of a road race car. Traction in a straight line is the key. The only reason the ITR diff is tempting is the fact that my cost on it is hella cheap. I'm sure it won't have a problem holding my power.. but if one of the others will make a considerable difference, I'll have no problem stepping up.

Quaife, I've heard good things about them.

Kaaz, I have heard their traction is great.. but they need to be rebuilt every so often. Rebuild is not a problem, since I'll be wrenching on it anyway.

So gimme some opinions, guys.

This is 200+whp in a 92 CX and I'll be launching on slicks in the future.

Thanks!

Nearly Bullet proof..

But Cusco would be nice if you can get them in the states for less than a left nut.. 1way or 2way MZ RS series..

What is a good LSD upgrade from the stock Torsen. I want one with no or very low maintanance. I´ve heard good things from ATS too. There is one with carbon thingys.

Mike K I could not understand why you were running a welded diff on the street anyway..

Quaiffe is the best way to go. Trust me you'll be very happy with it.

My guess would be because it was "free" and did what he wanted it to do.. minus the minor turning problems.

Hey Mike,

I'm the one who bought a brand new Kaaz off you a while back. While that particular Kaaz is still unused (soon it'll be put to use), I'm happy with the Kaaz I have in my 90 Integra.

Kaaz

I didn't have the cash at the time to do LSD, it was free(15 minutes w/ a welder), and it wasn't my primary vehicle.
It hooks. Believe me. It's crazy. But U-turns suck.

G0D.. one wheel is the shizzznit.. I wanna see your peg-leg burnout when you try to roll my 'teg next time you boyz are in FL. Pffff....

If the track was closer to my house, that's what I would do... but the 1/4 mile is like 2 hrs away, and towing the car back due to broken axles and no auto parts store in a 50 mile radius SUCKS.

I go to Bradenton.. but the test and tune is like 6-11pm.
By the time we all leave, there's mad traffic on I-75.. so it takes 2 hrs.

Only takes like an hour and 20 minutes to get back, though..

I have a kaaz 1.5 way right now and was thinking of going Quaife......

Maintenance is real expoensive, I gotta keep putting the special LSD oil in there evry 1500-2000 miles as recommended in the owners manual...its way too expensive for me...

the ATS has alot of maitenance aswell. Alan @ AJR recommended that I change LSD fluid every 3000km if I recall...plus the break in is a bitch lol. doing figure-8's for 20minz in 1st gear. talk about dizzyness.

Quaife if u want the least maintenance.

I use a Kaaz 1.5 way LSD and I really like it. It's very reactive but there is noise you have to deal with and changing fluid. Both which I don't mind cause of the benefits out weigh the cons. I've had mine for 30-35k and no rebuild yet and I don't use that expensive Kaaz fluid.

My brother has a Quaife in his VW GTi and it's nowhere near as noisy but he actually likes my Kaaz more than the Quaife.
