My car had the Cusco brake booster brace on it when I bought it, it seems to be quite a bit loose, how tight should this be ?
Can anyone give me some pointers on how tight the thing should be and how it should be installed correctly ?
I tried a search didn't find anything.
btw, my car is right hand drive

Snug if that's clear enough.
Not so tight that it bores a hole in the MC or pushes the MC back in an awkward position. It's just there to stop the MC from flexing outward too much. If it's too tight it will bend/flex the mounting position at the shock tower without pressure on the brake pedal.
Hope that was helpful.

Thanks that was helpful, I think the guy who installed it put the brace in backwards, its barely sticking into the brake cylinder.
Looks like a pain in the *** to move around, ill try it later. He has the end with the screw that rotates by hand sticking into the brace.
Not sure if that makes it any clearer...

its possibly one for a RHD car and so has to be turned around to get it to fit, but the thin end of the bolt should be up against the MC. I got a nut with a flat end and put it on the end of the bolt just so as to spread the impact point a bit

This is a picture I found.
The bolt on my one is on the other way, with that twisty **** hugging the brace, is this picture displaying the correct way to install the brace ?

Yes that is the correct way (in the picture) the thick end is for inserting an allen key into for tightening it up.
heres mine before i fitted the flat end nut onto it
