Default Car had problems starting and tach+speedo jumping

Today I took my car to my friend who work's at Acura to get an alignment done. The car ran great before i got there, but after he was done we went to start the car and it wouldn't start up. He jumped my battery and it started fine, but once i got it on the road the tach+speedo were jumping all over like crazy. After a couple of minutes they were back to normal again. Any idea whats going on? Sounds like maybe my alternator is bad?

did it also cause the car to not start and the battery to have low voltage?

usually when we align vehicles, we use a brake rod to press the brake pedal down during the alignment...chances are, they may have took too long while aligning it, causing the battery to go dead or something...

happens to us once in awhile...but the speedo/tach shouldn't jump irratically...sounds like wiring or ground issues as stated above.

well the speedo and tach calmed down and went back to normal after a few minutes of driving. My battery still wasn't charged after the drive like it should have been though. After letting the car sit for 10 minutes it wouldn't start back up again. thats why i'm guessing its the alternator.

use your multimeter and probe the positive and negative terminals while the
car is running...should have about 14.3 volts.
If you don't and are getting 12 volts, the battery is not getting charged and the alt.
is the problem
