Help, guys.
Where i live TIG is practically unheard of and MIG welders are few and far between. Although theres a whole bunch of very skilled stick and oxy-acetylene workers, its pretty much troglodyte technology here in the philippines. (Aluminum is done by oxy acetylene, stainless steel by stick.)
My question is, I plan to do a single side swing arm conversion on my cb750 and i need help with what material to use, given the resources available. If i use mild steel rectangular tubing and plain sheetmetal, how thick should they be, How bout if i use stainless steel? Will stick welding suffice, aluminum is out of the question coz nobody can work it. The distance between the frame pivot and the axle would be around 21 inches. Please enlighten me.

changed my mind. i decided to do a drag bike instead. thanks anyway

 

Look into getting a vfr 750/800 swingarm and wheel. Adapt that to fit the bike. It has been done on cbr 600's and 900's.

that R1 is using a Greggs Custom SSSA

 

The VFR800 SSS can be adapted to fit a SuperHawk, as well.
