Default Installing RSX Type-S axle back on 96-00 Civic coupe?

I just purchased this and i'm going to get it put in next week. What kind of things need to be done to get it to work? The inlet is 2" whereas my apex'i midpipes inlet is 2.25".. I was told this isn't a problem though. Any replies are appreciated.

the piping inlet is 1 7/8" or so, its tiny, the OD might be like 2" though

I'm not sure, but if I were to guess, I'd say that the DC5 axleback you bought will not line up at all. The piping and hangers are all meant to fit on an RSX, which happens to be pretty different than an EJ coupe exhaust. My advice: take it to a decent muffler shop because this is going to be a fun one

I've seen a picture of one installed on a 99-00 Civic coupe. I am bringing it to my muffler guy.. he should be able to handle it. He might have to reweld some hangers and alter the part where it will connect to the midpipe. I just hope it is long enough..

If it's not long enough, they can add piping to it. Why did you opt for a DC5 muffler versus an aftermerket bolt-on?

i was running a rsx-s muffler too and i loved it...
in order to make it work on your civic you'd have to take it to a muffler shop and have them weld it on for you... it will not bolt up without modifications.
btw, inlet is a bit over 2"...

I currently have an APEX'i dunk catback. I love the way it sounds and everything but a 5" tip is a bit much for me.. i'm kind of up in the air as to whether or not i'm still goign to get it changed...

Because they can get these for dirt cheap. Kinda like why people prize the ITR axleback. And they have a stock profile.
