Need some opinions on running motor with no iAC or fast idle.
Has anyone done their intake manifold ( STR or venom) by remove IAC? Can you give me some feed back on how it's done. I have couple ideas but never tested. I am assuming by looking at the helm that the idle will stay low at cold instead of high until warm up. I don't know if it will hurt other drivibility. Don't worry about the check light, I'm using standalone ( AEM). I just want to know how you bypass it correctly and will it function well after warm up.
it will function normally once warmed up... but warming it up is a pain... u cant keep idle until its warm... and after that all the cars iv seen witout the iac tend to idle pretty high (~2000)
basically all you have is the idle adjustment screw on your TB and your foot to warm up the car, just take your time with the the start up enrichment program on your standalone to do it right. my DFI is known to be the worst standalone to control idle because it cant handle short injector pulse but i keep my LS with manifold at 1000-1100rpm
On my OBD1 95 integra TB, there is the fast idle valve attached on the bottom which OBD2 integras don't have them, I think they got rid of it since it act almost the same as the IAC, anyway, would the fast idle valve help at all with the IAC taking down? Also, taking the IAC off, will it idle surge after warm up or it just constant high idle?
Mine appears to be broken, and when the wires are disconnected, it idles low, idles high, dies, whatever. It is not a good situation!
