my first wreck bike is TOTALED
Well i first wrecked today. and all i have to say is thank god i was wearing my gear.
i was in the mountains going about 60 on a turn came in to fast and there was cinders on the road so i tired to stand it up from the lean to slow down but i didnt have enough time to the guard rail so i figured my best bet was to lay it down so i didnt hit it head on. so the bike flew into it at about 50mph and i slid down the turn. the bike is totaled it got wedged under the guard rail. i hit it so hard the front forks just broke in half and the body of the bike was completely wedged under. we had to get a h2 with a winch to pull it out.
as for my im ok i had all my gear no real road rash, poped my shoulder out of place, fucked my shin and ankle up a lil
be safe
will get pics up asap
**Got pics...its not even as close to as bad as i thought it was. Today was the first day i looked at it. All it needs is front rim, tire, brake lines, forks, side fairings, upper and some misc stuff. i must of been able to slow down alot more before it ended up hitting the guard rail... enjoy.

cinders, as in the red **** they spread on the road for snow traction. Kindof sucks that for us bastards that get snow its still not great wide open riding untill june-july.
thanks for the support i am deff lucky and i owe it to gear and msf training etc... i will never ride w/o fully geared ever again and i advise u all to as well. cause if i wouldnt i would of had some very bad road rash esp with all the gravel and cinders and everything
im just glad by the time the cops came i moved my bike about 40 feet from where i hit the guard rail so that way i didnt have to pay for that as well...
just sucks i just droped down from full coverage to only liab about 3 weeks ago
hopefully pics tomorrow

Man this is really an odd coincidence. A buddy of mine on an '05 R6 new rider just went down about the same. Down in VA along skyline drive. Cruising about 60 or so and just happened to miss judge a turn and lowsided. His bike slammed into the guard rail and he slid down. His bike was totaled. Forks broke in half also. Also cracked the subframe, plastics were totaled. He said he was ok and just felt a little sore on his shoulder. His friend picked him up and on the way home he started getting chest pains. So was advised to go to the hospital to get checked out. Well thank goodness he did because it was discovered that his spleen was possibly ruptured and bleeding and might need to be removed. They did a blood transfusion and he seemed to take that ok and his internal bleeding seemed to cease. Hopefully. Will be hoping for a safe and speedy recovery tonight.
Glad you are ok. Good luck with everything man.

Glad to hear you're ok.
I still cringe every time I hear that someone "had to lay it down". I suggest that if you ever want to ride again you should take a serious look at your riding skills and habits. Try to identify what caused the accident and what you could have done differently to change the situation.
I hope you a speedy recovery

my question when i hear that is always how long have u been riding??...to a newer rider, a good set of tires and any 97 or newer SS bike will be able to achieve unthinkable lean angles in stock form...... you'd be surprised how low a bike can be leaned.... i bet in a year or two if you continue riding you will find that that corner will be easier to take at higher speeds... honestly, if you HAVE to lay it down, what do u got to lose to look through the corner, press hard, and lean ur *** over... that way if u do low side u did everything u could to save it... just don't touch the brakes, when leaning........
i analyze my first accident everytime i ride... and every time i think of little improvements.... to wearing your gear..... take it easy, best of luck

glad to hear you're okay...but
dind't you get your bike liek a month ago? you took the MSF too? you know then most accidents happen in corners too, if you couldn't see the crap in the road you weren't looking far enough ahead or it was a blind corner

I was thinking the exact same thing too
I was thinking the exact same thing too
ive been riding over a year and a half about 25,xxx miles under my belt. i did just get this f4i about a month and a half ago... i just was stupid riding to fast on roads i didnt know and misjudeged a turn. i wont be riding like i was ever again on roads that im not familiar with that is for sure. oh and it was a blind corner it was much sharper then i was anticipating...which again is stupid on me for going as fast as i was on a road i didnt know im sure i could of leaned it over just a bit more to maybe make it who knows there are many things i shoulda done but im just glad it didnt end up worse
and i deff will be riding again as soon as i can get money for another bike...this scared me but not even close to making me never ride...just made me more aware and think more.
oh and i have good tires. Diablo Corsa on the rear and just a Diablio on the front. with only about 1000 miles on them
*adding insult to injury my girlfriend and i ended up breaking up last night too. what a great night for that to happen...**** always just seems to go wrong at once...
