Ok, so I go out to my GSR and the side-view mirror is hanging off by the wire that connects to the adjustment motor, with the plastic on the inside snapped. My question is is it difficult to put a new mirror on myself (all I have is basic hand tools--i live in a dorm), or should I just have the dealer install it for me? Also, about how much do you think the mirror assembly itself should cost? Thanks.
The labor isn't hard at all. Removal of the inner door panel, and the plastic snap off cover to get to the three nuts holding in the side mirror.
definately dont go to the dealer, they will charge way too much for such a small task it is extremely easy and can be done in under 20 - 30 min

dont forget to unplug the harness as well. Ive seen a pair of sides go for as low at 30 bucks, keep your eyes on classifieds and other members parting out their cars.btw should only take you 10 mins tops if its your first time

thanks for the replys, guys. do you think I could get the part at a honda dealer? the nearest acura dealer is 40 miles away
open your door, there is a triangular shaped plastic piece on the door, right above your door panel, in the front, the piece pops off, the are three nutz you have to remove, and you have to diconnect the electrical,( this is just a plug that unsnaps) take out the old mirror, and reverse this process, t is easy, shouldnt take more than 15 mins, I did mine in 10.

Yeah, dont go to the dealership. You should be able to find one around for a fraction of the price you would end up spending at the dealership.
I got mine off Ebay for 10 Bucks +Shipping.
Install already posted. But to re-explain.
You have to remove the door panel which is held on by plastic pieces that snap on/off. use a flathead screwdriver to assit if it's your first time. Be gentle on the panel and unsnap it in sections. Then remove the cover just behind the mirror on the inside of the car. If i recall correctly, you need to open the door all the way and slide it out. Then unbolt the 3 screws and it comes right off. Locate the gasket between the mirror and the frame. It should be good, if so reuse it on the new one. Then re-bolt and re-assemble. It's that easy, Dont worry about any wires dude. Honda was generous enough to make it "plug in" style. It plugs into a female slot on the chassis. The mirror has the male end. It's cake, dont pay a dealer.

lol stock mirrors are gay, i just broke my driver side on wednesday! few months ago i broke the passenger side one by backing out of my garage and not paying attention to the brick colums thats like a frame for the garage. that broke, and then on wed, i was "folding" the mirror, and the spring inside of it just acme loose. electrical tape is your best friend
