thats one nasty build up.... have u tried cleaning it and see how bad it is stained??
i doubt its burning oil.... as the chambers are does not seem to have oil or "gunky"
residue...
use carb cleaner and then follow it up with some wd40

Someone took a **** in your intake? The stains on the pistons looks like rust, but it can't be possible.
It looks like your head gasket was shot and it was burning coolent and it looks like water was more in the cooling system than radiator fluid thats just my guess

I agree with that, thats the only way rust can build up like that is from water/coolant getting into that area via a headgasket being gone. Glad to hear you got it cleaned up, dont forget to get a new headgasket

headgasket was never shot, compression test was 220 all the way no leaks, no oil&coolant mixture

It doesnt have to be shot all at once, it could have been something from over time, there doesnt necessairly have to be a oil/coolant mixture for a 1000 miles, how many miles does the motor have?

I was going to say it looks like the result of the fuel you are burning.. I can tell you one thing from those pics. It looks like you were running that engine WAY too rich
