Default radiator fan

sometimes when im driving i notice tht hot stem come out of the passenger side under the hood. i look at the tempurature gauge and its close to half on the cold side. so when i pop the hood its water boiling on the passenger side in a container thing connected to the radiator and my radiator fan doesn't turn on. should i get a new fan?

the "container thing" is the overflow tank, make sure that is at maximum fill, if problem persists, ckeck your therastat, or it could be a fuse to your fan, I would have a shop check it out, shouldnt cost much $$ at all. good luck

follow the bottom radiator hose from the radiator to the engine block and there is where it is. the housing holds the radiator fan switch(which might need to be replaced if the fan is not coming on).

for the fan. try disconnecting it and running 2 wires off the plug-in to the battery. if the fan comes on then its not the fan motor or plug. try checking the fuses or relays. if not that then the fan switch sensor(located at the themostat housing).

good luck. hope this helps.

thats what im saying, if the coolant temp is normal(a little before halfway point). i dont know why, but my fan never comes on, and it never has. and yet i can bring my car to the track on 90+ days and the temp gauge never moves at all.
