Battery Problems? 3 new batteries in 6 months?!?
When i first got my teg it had a battery with about 700CCA in it. It died about a year later. I went to Napa all they had are 550CCA. So I did that, now this is my third batery in 6 months. The first one died and the second one expanded and leaked and burnt a hole in my evap canister and this one is OK but I need to do something before it goes bad or starts leaking.
Any help???

theres a short somewhere, or something is drawing from the battery all the time...something really small and insignificant except after a long time, sucks ***, good luck finding it **** like that is so annoying.
I would start with...checking lights and stuff maybe the light in the glove box or in the hatch if you have one or .... something dumb like your stereo

I have a similar problem, I go through 1 battery a year. I have no idea what the problem is either, thought it was my alternator but it still read 12volts
I have a stero hooked up but I never had a problem before, I have checked everything, like lights because I thought that would be the problem
but it doesn't explain why the third battery swelled and overflowed....is it possible that I need a bigger batter like another 700cca?

maybe with a smaller battery it's over-drawing and causing the battery to heat up and swell....
i gotta NAPA battery and it's been trouble free for 2 years now....bout the only thing that NAPA has that's worth a ****....

I used to dump batterys every year also. I also have a system, My mech. suggested a "deep cycle" so i wouldnt have the starting problems and voltage losses. I went with the Optima Yellow Top, but I had to move it into the trunk. I've never been happier. And it's been trouble free for 3 years now. Love that battery.
I have a similar problem...
My battery (Optima yellow) died 2 times, so I got a Diehard now and always unplug the negative when I go somewhere and take the battery in for the night.
I'm not gonna let it just keep draining batteries.

Sounds like you have a short or a constant wired up without an ignition on & off. faulty wiring would keep your accessories on after you turn off the car.
As long as I dont have to take out any more Metal Gears

could be an alternator problem. To check it get a voltage testor, and with the car running put the electrodes on the +/- sides of the battery. A good alternator will put out about 14v, while a good battery (with the car off) will be 12v.
EDIT: Oh i forgot to add that autozone has a machine that will check out your entire charging system, and its free!
Maybe u should just take it there

I had my alternator, etc. checked at Kragen, so I know it's a "short" somewhere in the system especially because a "ghetto shop" hooked up my ****. I just don't have the money and time to check that right now.
yup you have too high of a load on your battery when the car is off. A good way to troubleshoot that is with a voltmeter on the amps setting. Put the meter inline with the battery, check the load with everything closed (doors, domelights...etc) Then start unpluging suspectable things (radio, alarm, both unlikely but possible, domelights..etc) unplug fuses, once you see the meter go down you may have found it.
