Default How long does factory radiator last?

How long does the factory radiator typically last, anyway?

I have a 1997 HX with 105k miles with a stock drivetrain, and I'm considering upgrading the radiator for track duty.

it'll last forever basically...

I mean it will eventualy get enough fins bent where it doesn't work right... but other than that the life is pretty indefinate...

I have a 93 with 203k miles on it and I changed over to a dual core civic radiator...

My stock one was fine though... def. didn't need the new one.

Unless you're overheating it's doing it's job.

I guess it depends where you live too
cause the salt on the streets here ate about 70% of the fins.
I would poke em with my fingers and it would fall apart.

this was on my 92 hatch,
I also upgrade to the dual core Rad

Mine caught on fire and is melted in places, but it's still working perfect.

my oem one lasted about 9 years here in mild cali weather before it started leaking at the seams... for cars in general, the radiator will start corroding and clogging INSIDE before real damage shows on the outside.

for track, an aluminum replacement radiator should be enough for even the hottest track days
