Default I was talking with my freinds about fuel pump rewiring...

I have been contimplating rewiring my Walbro 255, or just adding an inline pump to my 6an feed line. I mentioned this to my freinds, and they told me that I should only need to run larger wires from the relay to the stock wires at the tank. They said I could attach the larger wire straight to the stock wiring on the tank instead of running them all the way to the plug on the pump (what I was origionally going to do.) However, I thought this would be pointless since the wiring is still going to be ran to the tiny 16gauge wires. But then again, the only reason why I would be doing the wiring would be because of the voltage drop, not because the pumps not getting enough current.

Any thoughts?
