Default Need to replace a broken strut on a 2001 Civic EX

My dad hit a huge pot hole in the winter and it broke the passenger side front strut.

It's leaking hydrolic fluid everywhere...

We have about 2-3 months left on the lease on this car and I want to get it replaced so they don't charge us like $300 when we turn it in.

What brand is the stock struts on this car? KYB?

I'm looking for the cheapest possible replacement, as long as it works.

Any ideas/links would be very helpful

I'm not even sure if they're making aftermarket struts for that car yet, since it has a McPherson setup. I checked about a year or so ago, and the only other option besides Honda was Koni. Call around to a few shops like Midas or Mineki and see if they have any in stock and if you could buy one. You may have to suck it up and get one from honda.

Tokico, Koni, KYB, and a number of others make struts for 01-up civic. Got to 7thgencivic.com and you can find some good resources there.

I would be completely amazed if that was noticed when you turn the car in. I used to work for Honda and when a customer turned a lease car in, there was nothing on the checklist that would require the car being on a lift (pretty much only way they're going to notice it). We basically just checked the body and interior and made sure the engine wasn't blown....
