This has been covered many times already.
Use your 97 engine harness and modify it with the engine harness plugs etc etc. Adding wires for the sensors that the ecu needs.

You can't use a 99-00 civic si engine harness becasue the 99-00 have 2 plugs that go to the ecu from the engine and the third one is wired into the car. So its not possible. Just stick with you 97 engine harness and add your vtec, vtec pressure, and knock sensor. Or if you have a 97 ex then they should all already be there. Then it depends on what ecu you are gonna use, you can buy a obd2 to obd1 converter harness if you plan on using a obd1 ecu. or if you decide to use a 99-00 civic si ecu then you can buy a obd2a to obd2b conversion harness. What I did with my jdm 2nd gen b16a in my 98 lx, I boughth a 99-00 civic si engine harness. And what i did was i pulled the ecu plugs off the 98 engine harness and removed the plugs off the 99-00 civic si engine harness and with the helms book, I repined the 3 correct plugs so that I can keep the 98 engine harness on my car and plug in a 99 si ecu. It was alot more work. But I love doing it, i did my friends wire harness in his 92 civic with a 2nd gen b16a, and another crx si with a 1st gen b16a. And all three run like champs no codes, so "i'm 3 for 3. So do what I say and what everyone else says, keep the 97 engine harness and work off that.

No.
92-95 civics have a 2 pc harness, exactly like the integras.
96 and up civics have a 1 pc harness

Reread post above.
Peace

No, becasue gsr's have the secondary butterflies in the intake manifold. and the b16's dont, nor do the type r's. You can use a p73 ecu which is a type r ecu and it plugs right into the 96-98 engine harness. The ecu will plug right in but I never looked at the pinout. So I'm 98% sure the pinout should be the same, but not 100%. And if you do decide to use a type r ecu you will have to be carefull, because the type r redlines at 8600, and the si redlines at 8200. The si is not made to go passed 8200. So you would have to watch for that everytime you race or decide to go up into the high rpms.
