Default Forged bottom End

i have heard that you cannot put forged internals in a stock h22 block but this doesnt make sense to me. is this true?

the harder 60XX forged materials do not work well with the frm cylinder walls

what will be and up and coming event is someone on honda tech here is going to use 2032 fordged alloy pistons with a swain tech coating and an oem ring pack, and that is the best its going to get

however the 2032 has a downsides it is not a light as the 60XX alloys and is weaker.. but i guess anything is better than stock pistons.

i guess stay tunned..

to be safe you can sleeve.

this just doesnt make sense to em, because ow are the cylinder walls going to know the difference betweeen oem pistons and forged, it should all be the same as far as the cylinder walls are concerned.

an H22 cylinder wall is not steel or iron, like most other engines.

You're close. That is an F20C out of an S2000. You can tell because of the oil drains... but it is an example of FRM and Forged piston incompatability.

Aren't the expansion properties of the forged pistons different than the stockers? I heard it scores the FRM up somethin awful.

The thing I haven't seen any conclusive evidence about was what causes the scarring?

Is it the metals not meshing well together, or is it a clearance problem w/ different expansion rates of the metals?
