Towing Auto crx on all fours?
I am going to tow a crx with an auto tranny on all four wheels.
If I shift the tranny to neutral will it be okay or should I pull the axles out?
I know on some cars you have to have the engine started for the shifting to work. Is that the case with CRXs also? The reason I ask is that the engine can't be started.

why dont you try it and see? If you put the key in the "on" position and put your foot on teh brake and ty to change it to "N", and it goes; then you are all set.

You don't need to take the axles out. Pretty sure you just need to put the key in the ignition and turn it to the 'on' position. THen you will be able to shift into neutral, then just take out the key and have it towed.

Thats what I figured. I asked because I was browsing through my 01 civics owners manual (reading at the beach lol) and it said to "start car, shift to d, then shift to n"
I have shifted it to n with out starting before so I thought that was weird. I have heard of broken auto trannys with towing the drive wheels on the ground so I thought maybe it needs vac. for a sec to do some lube thing - I don't know anything about autos lol.

You can stick the key (or piece of metal) in the release on the shifter. Then you can pop it into N. The previous owner of my hatch did that all the time.
If would not bother pulling the axles, cause you will have to drain/fill the tranny.
