Default Finally, I have some $$$. WTB's for the R.

Well, I have a little bit of $. My list of WTB's somewhat in order is:

-ES motor mount inserts (questions later)
-mugen intake
-toda header
-T1R exaust
-JDM 4.9 FD
-Toda LW flywheel
-exedy organic clutch
-RED DC2R JDM RECAROS!!**(are these heavier than stock usdm ITR Seats???)
-JDM FRONT END
-LOTS OF WHEELS! 16 or 15 inch LW racing rims, just show me the picS!! I plan to collect many wheels for the R.
-USDM FRONT and BACK BUMPER (NBP in mint condition)

Alright now, the only thing is that I dont have money for any of this stuff yet. Well, only for the cheaper stuff. ABOUT THE ES MOTOR MOUNT INSERTS, are those better for DD street use than Z10 traction bars? a freind told me the Z10 is specifically for drag use, and im not sure.

My budget will probably be a total of 1500 to spend over the summer. Not much, but at least its something.

I am probably gonna go for the ES inserts first. Where can I get them brand new for cheapest possible? is installation difficult? any help is

Thanks

??? Are you making some kind of JDM/USDM hybrid front?

If you've only got $1500 to play with, just get some good tires/pads and have some fun at a track.

nope never heard horror stories, but ill keep my stock clutch till it dies

no pnut, no hybrid front!! i need a new back bumper for sure, and i want a new USDM front bumper that is perfect to replace the one I have. Ill sell the one I have and later on will replace with a JDM front end, but I will keep the USDM front end, and switch them up from time to time (if thats a bad/stupid/impossible idea, tell me why please)

ROB- what is the diff between the inserts you got and the ES ones I am confused as hell. ? WAIT I got it now those are motor mounts!

I want to get those, definetly. Can you hook me up with somebody that will install them cheap? I live in jerz, so Im not far at all. lemme know !

THANKS!

another satisfied exedy clutch owner here.

i'd suggest you do one modification at a time. if you do it all at once, you won't really appreciate, and at the same time be able to evaluate, what each modification has done to improve your car. of course, doing all transmission stuff at once makes sense. but overall, try to pace it. you'll learn to appreciate your car.

also like many guys here suggest, try to bring your car out to the track, unless you've already done so.

you can't switch them up from time to time. When you put a JDM front on you need to replace the radiator support and ****.

switching would require quite an extensive amt of work...... you would have to not only switch out the bumpers, but the fenders, hood, radiator support and some other lil misc. ****. so don't plan on switching them really

and if your are driving your car on the street daily, 4.9 fd might be a bit short for your likings............but it would prob be pretty quick

one mod at a time is what i am planning, expecially because i make a little money at a time . tranny mods at the same time makes sense to me, and I plan on keeping the USDM front end until i can afford a JDM which will be a while, I will probably try to pick up the red recaro's first. JDM front will be the last mod on the list, but i will be modding over time after i get one

4.9 will be fine, i drive my gramps beater usually, and i liike high revs

Thanks for the help

As others have already said, pads, fluid and track time.

Though you seem to be ignoring these comments, I highly suggest that you give it a try. We wouldn't recommend it so highly if it wasn't the most fun way of using the car.

If you buy the seats first you'll only have about 300$ or so left to play with if your budget is only 1500$...I paid 1200$ shipped for mine...

My .02 would be to buy something that would benifit your caR a little bit more performance wise than cosmetically (although the JDM Recaros hold a lot more than the USDM seats, the USDM seats will suffice for anything you might be doing auto-x/track days etc.)

Again this is just my .02 but I would just start with the basic I/H/E; and I think you will be pleased with the purchases you make if you plan on getting the I/H/E you've posted above...

But most of all, get out on the track and put the caR to use!
Enjoy your caR and all the new mods

i havent ignored the comments.. the thing is i dont have the time for track events anytime soon, and I still have to convince my parents, the real owners of the R, that I will be OK racing.

I am going for the mounts first (to get rid of the hop), and i/h/e are next. after that i will be searcing vigorously for red recaro's. then, tranny work. (i dont wanna rush the tranny as mine is very solid right now). Around the same time I will be looking for a set or 2 of lightweight rims.

The only cosmetic mod really is the JDM front, and that will be one of the final things I do to the R, and will have the entire car repainted NBP.

Like i said, my parents and i are still talking about track events and such, as far as the dragstrip, i honestly dont want to waste the time and money.

There are many other mods that i will consider for performance, but i am not looking to make my car lightening quick as of yet, just a few small performance parts for personal enjoyment. I have had the R bone stock for 2 years, and I love it, but I would like a little more power.

By the time i am done with this list (or close hopefully), I will graduated college, be working a "real" career, and will be able to plan in advance for the events, get some better pads, fluids, and go out and race the car. This is also because my dad wants me to be sure i can afford to fix/replace the car in the event something happens at the track (insurance will not cover).

So, all in all, I have plans to race the car, I am not a JDM BLING ***** (well not that bad at least), and I would like to upgrade a few parts in preparation

I would aslo check ouot soem prothane bushing inserts instead of the urathane (they last longer and wont make your car vibrate as bad as the jim fab stuff)
plus they are $46 shipped in the sponsors market place
I would also look into some other mods and do some more searches
for example the TODA header ...yes this a seriouse JDM Bling part that performs but there are headers that out perform it for a little less cash

which header outperforms the toda header? afain the toda header is the best one out there, with good ground clearance as well.
