no more 2nd gear....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I havent been to the track in a while. I was waiting for my quaife to get here before I went back. Once my quaife got here my clutch started slipping. So this past wednesday I got the new clutch and installed the clutch and the lsd. Last friday I headed out to the track. Put on the slicks, get up to the water box....
Pull up the e-brake, put it in 2nd gear rev it to 5500 wot and drop the clutch. Tire smoke, tire smoke, car begins to pull forward. Once the car started pulling forward I hear some noises, ****. That cant be good.
I put it in first gear, move forward and I hear noises. Shiat.
Last time I was at moroso I had phantom grip in my car, and I stripped the spider gears in the burnout box as well. It made the exact same noise this time as it did when I broke the phantom grip. Note-I didnt brake the phantom grip but I just stripped the spider gears. (pictures attached, this was several months ago).
So I push the car back, pop the hood. Take a look at the axles and their fine. I knew that it was very unlikely that the quaife broke. I didnt know what it could have been. I start it up and put it in 1st. Try to move forward, same noises. Pull it out of gear, into neutral. Let off the clutch and EXTREMELY loud noise of something in the tranny. ****!
AAA gets there about 3hours later. Get home at about 11, at about midnight I found my problem.......****!

So I bought an entire new set of gears and mainshaft, countershaft synchro's and all. Sending it out to be cryotreated once the parts get here, hopefully back at the track on wednesday.
