Damn, you're screwed.

ESN is NOT a "security code". You have to have the same CD that the original owner used to set the security. Furthermore if you try too many CD's then it locks up and can ONLY be reset back at the factory.

Sounds like your brother needs to quit buying stolen merchandise...

PS: if he really did buy it from an honest person, that person would have the cd that unlocks the ESN...try that route.

Im sure theres a way to get it.

Further more, it is not stolen. I found out today that it came into his work in a car that was being returned to stock form again. He purchased it from his work at a great price. There is no cd. 1st owner didnt have it in the car when it was traded in.

I got in contact with a local eclipse dealer and have found a way i might be able to get it. I will let you know tomorrow...

I'm glad you found out it was a legit source. That's good to hear...

Does anyone else find this part decidedly disturbing though? What kind of idiot dealer would try to reset a unit on-site?!? That's the kind of **** you lose your license over...

Wasnt on site, and they contacted Eclipse directly. No shady goings on.

Its sad that anything bought now is considered stolen. I said i didnt care where it came from, but i never said it was stolen in ANY form.
