Default will a jdm automatic p30 ecu work for hondata?

My friend just bought a jdm p30 ecu to use on his b16 for a while & eventually get hondata on it. He bought it from some guy in japan on ebay. It was susposed to be from a manual trans car, but the guy messed up & sent him one from a auto trans car.

His car seems to run fine on it, but my question is will he be able to get hondata on this auto p30 or does it need to be a manual p30? Thanks

is there anything special that needs to be done to make it work or is it the same as a manual ecu?

Yeah it will work you just have to convert it to a manual ECU. Search on PGMFI.org I believe you can find it there.

ok, i check out pgmfi.org. It seems simple enough to convert it to manual. So once I do this then it will be ok for hondata?

Just making sure cuz if it wont work then he needs to return this thing soon so he can get a refund & buy a manual one. Thank guys
